Grub Cycle is a group of passionate individuals who are into the business of doing good and solving problems at the same time. Grub Cycle creates value for food by channeling unsold food products that are still fit for public consumption, thus reducing overall food wastage in Malaysia. Proceeds from the sale are used to subsidize the cost of Grub Bags, which consist of basic food necessities such as rice, cooking oil, and eggs, for low income and marginalised communities.
The four founders of Grub Cycle met quite fatefully at a charity event in a refugee school and realized that they shared many things in common, but what stood out was their unflinching resolve to help the community. After multiple meetings and ideas being thrown about as to how they could help, the idea of reducing food wastage and feeding the poor at the same time seemed like the way to go. And that is how Grub Cycle was created.
On the quest to reduce food wastage, Grub Cycle enrolled into the MAGIC Accelerator Program for Social Enterprises (MAPSE). It was during this time that myHarapan’s Social Enterprise Ventures (SEV) took note of this fledgling project. Grub Cycle, through myHarapan’s help, is positioned to be the leading social enterprise that reduces food wastage while helping the underprivileged communities of Malaysia.
