Simply Cookies is a social enterprise that aims to break single mothers in Malaysia out of the poverty cycle by providing them economic opportunities to balance financial independence and motherhood. They train single mothers in baking delectable cookies, supply them with baking equipment and ingredients, and help them sell the ready goods. This allows single mothers to be home to raise their children, while providing for the family.
Sue, Founder/Chief Executive Officer
A year ago, Sue saw a social problem of single mothers leaving their children at the orphanages because they couldn’t afford to look after them, and found an ingenious way to help them by baking cookies. And thus Sue established Simply Cookies. Sue’s resourcefulness stems from her genuine passion for helping single mothers. She attributes her success to building partnerships, putting herself out there by entering competitions and programmes to gain funding and exposure.
